These small danios look good in shoals in a community aquarium. Most have a basic pattern of blue and cream colored stripes, but some have their stripes broken into streaks and spots. Whiteworms are helpful in conditioning for spawning. The females become fat with eggs and the males color becomes brighter during spawning. For breeding the tank should be kept at approximately 6 inches. Placing egg crate on the base of the tank will prevent the parents from eating the eggs. The parents should be removed from the tank shortly after spawning to protect the young.
